The new month/year/decade is off to a busy start. Earlier in the month, ESPN aired the follow-up to last August’s “Football Is Us: The American Game” by airing the companion piece “Football Is Us: The College Player.” This 90 minute program recounted the evolution of college football players over 150 years. Produced by Hock Films.

Premiering this Thursday, January 30th (Episode 1) and next Thursday February 6th (Episode 2) is the 4-hour “VICK.” This two-episode 30 for 30 documentary series for ESPN revisits Michael Vick, the game-changing and controversial retired NFL player. This archival-heavy project was directed by Stanley Nelson and his Firelight Films prodco.
